Warfare System
Introduction • Ranking System • Military Operations • Execution of Missions System


Introduction.
There has been a change in warfare since the first war was fought. This system focuses on the use of divisions — Brigades. Each country will have about ten Brigades, respectively named the First Brigade to the Tenth Brigade. Each division will have an even amount of soldiers and a maximum of three generals; one of which would be the Ace General, and the other would be his/her Right-hand Man and Strategist; the rest are soldiers.


The Ranking System.
As mentioned, there will be a maximum of three generals in a single Brigade, and a varied amount of soldiers depending on how many soldiers they have drawn from Soul Summoning. The following will provide a chart and brief description of the ranking within a Brigade:

As you may have noticed, Officers are competely separate from Brigades. Officers act more or less as the police and peacekeepers of each country. They DO NOT actively fight battles against other countries like Brigades; they remain in their respective countries and watch over the citizens. Officers will be asked to attend events and festivals in New Utopia in order to keep an eye on both civilians and fighters from their own countries.

If you intend on making your character an Ace General, Strategist, Right-hand Man, or Officer please make sure your character is fit for that role of responsibly when you apply. If you do not wish to immediately apply for a high position, in-game promotions are possible.


Military Operations.
The following is a list of military operations your character will eventually encounter. We will make sure that ALL OF YOU have done all of them at least once. Read on to see how we will execute these missions.

Search & Destroy: This type of military operation requires 5 to 10 soldiers MAXIMUM, not including the division Generals. Your mission is to search for whatever the target is (it may be a person, an item, or building; it varies) and destroy it completely.

Rescue: Either a member of your division or someone in the country has been kidnapped. Your mission is to locate this person and return him or her back to your military base. This requires 5 to 10 soldiers MAXIMUM.

Retrieve: Similarly to a Rescue Mission, this operation requires returning an item back to your country base. There should be a MAXIMUM of 8 soldiers for this mission.

Escapade: One of the more difficult and long-term missions, this type could last from a couple days to a couple months. No generals should be involved in this. The superiors will pick a MAXIMUM of 3 soldiers capable of stealth to be planted in another military base (or New Utopia) for information gathering.

Defensive: Something valuable to your country is under attack; your mission is to defend it at all costs. Gather a MINIMUM of 5 soldiers for this mission.

Offensive: Like Search & Destroy, this category requires taking on the offensive against another group. Your target is the enemy's generals. This mission requires a MINIMUM of 5 soldiers.

Complete each assigned mission completely and do not upset your superiors.


Execution of Missions System.
After though much discussion, we have decided to alter the execution of missions by quite a bit. As we are running a war-based game which involves the conscription of soldiers, we want you, as roleplayers, feel the similar suspense their characters should -- the fact that they will never know what happens next and be driven by it. We feel that that substance in an RPG will make this one unique and enhance your roleplaying experience.

That said, there will be a series of steps in this Mission Execution System which the following will explain:

One. A week before the mission is assigned, we will post a sign-up sheet in the OOC community. It will say what country and brigade number the mission will concern so that there won't be a mass confusion within whom should look at the thread. There will be a set number of soldiers required for the mission; half of which are picked by us manually, and the other half will have to sign-up on the same page (which will be posted unannounced to the public; you will all have to just have to catch the post at the right time before slots fill up). You won't know what kind of mission it is until [info]superiors announces it.
Two. The post will also have a survey with the following questions:
          Character:
          Allow the chance of death? yes or no question.
          Allow the chance of captivation? also y/n
          Allow for serious injury? y/n
          Additional notes: if you have anything to add to this, please tell us here.
Keep in mind that you will never know whether any of these will happen to your character or not. Your character can easily come out of the mission completely unscathed, even if you answered "yes" for all questions. It's all chance. Also, this should be filled out by the generals of the brigade as well because they WILL be involved in this. If you have this out, we expect you to be ready to log this out. We will contact those who we have hand-picked ourselves to see if they are available. Otherwise, those who voluntarily signed up MUST be ready to thread with their teammates.
Three. After we have gathered enough people, [info]superiors will have a set date for the mission about five (real-time) days later. All soldiers who he assigns (which are the ones who signed up) will have to report to that post.
Four. On the day of the mission, we will prepare a post in [info]conscripted. Those who are involved in the mission must roleplay it out. Mods will help with NPCs. Remember, you won't know what will happen to your character; we will decide. By filling out the survey, you will give us ideas as to what will and will not occur.
