FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of character can I apply for?
Just about every character in any fandom, so long that they are shaped as human and/or have a human mindset. We do not want Godzilla, the snakes on Medusa's head, or Original Characters (for now). There may be a time in the future in which we will create a system for OCs; for now, savor what is offered.

What exactly happened to have my character end up here?
Think of it this way: there are three greedy countries who are in need of people in order to either expand their army or to simply occupy the absence of most of the population. Your character, whether or not he or she is a warrior, has been sent to one of the countries to either fight or work for them.

So they just wake up to their designated country?
Yes. It could be said that your character fainted in their own world. Your character will wake up in their assigned quarter along with one other person, most likely of the same sex. They are to stay in that quarter for the rest of their military career -- that is if there are not any in-game alterations by the Grand Warlord. There will be a letter on the stand (sort of) explaining the situation, and below it a miniature-sized laptop.

What does the "laptop" look like and what are its features?
It looks like a mini-laptop (about this size) but doesn't carry an actual laptop's full features.. and it's also a touch-screen. You open it up and the first thing you see is a simple "Welcome!" The top has tabs labeled MAP, JOURNAL (can be used as a private notepad; password protected), FRIENDS, AMITYNET and the newly added CENTREVERSE DAILY. Oh, and the color's usually the darker shade of whatever country you've signed up for.

It's all in English (which your character will now magically know!), so no foreign materials here.

Will my character be absolutely forced to fight for that country?
Your character is expected to stay their for the rest of the game, yes. However, consider the fact that this is somewhat like real-life (but supernatural) warfare; there will be instances of treason, capture, death and rebirth. Your character may be captured as a prisoner of war and forced to fight for another country different from who they were originally fighting.

How are characters' powers controlled in this game?
For those who can fight, there are usually two types: those with supernatural powers and those who have natural strength. What defines the two of them, you might ask? Well, here's what we think:

Supernatural Powers: Our view on this is those who have out-of-proportion powers that are not physically possible. That includes magic, weapons that have strange abilities, and everything in between. If you have questions about your character's abilities -- what they can or cannot do, please simply ask. Anyway, those with supernatural abilities will have their powers weighed down from 100% to 70%. However, it varies from person to person because not all have the same amount of powers. Just have a thought that just about everyone have the same amount of vigor; no one is exactly better.

Natural Powers: There has been much contemplation over this, since it is not physically possible to have these type of people (those who are strong due to muscle and etcetera) lose their strength without any involvement of chemicals or defying the laws of physics. That said, we've come to the conclusion that those with natural strength will have a stamina problem. They will find that they tire easily and require two times the rest they would normally have to.

If you feel that your character doesn't belong in either category, contact one of us and we'll sort it out with you personally. Thank you!

Please elaborate on the topic of treason.
If for whatever reason you decide to make your character commit treason (that is, if they betray their own country. This will explain the act of leaving one's country to serve another, specifically), please consider the consequences; these armies cannot afford to lose any warriors or employees, so their security is severely uptight. Before you attempt to make your character leave their own country, please contact one of us mods to set everything up. We will have the final judgment on whether or not your character will be able to.

Anyways, to do this, you must make a log thread on it to be added on the "storyline." You may call for an NPC or another player who will act as the security. If your character successfully surpass the surveillance of the army, he or she will head toward the borders of New Utopia, no matter which country they are in. In order to enter New Utopia, however, your character must obtain a pass from their original country. Failure to have the pass will prohibit your character from entering New Utopia.

If your character is caught, they will not face the death penalty, because as mentioned, the army could not afford to lose people even though death is not permanent. They will simply be locked in along with the prisoners of war for a couple of days. If they do so more than once, the punishment will increase.

What is this "Pass"?
The technical term for this pass is "Transregion Permit." The Transregion Permit is a green card with a distinct emblem of either Valora, Verity, or Ex Favila. Only the generals have access to these cards to give out, and they are usually handed out on occasions such as festivals within New Utopia as a way to relax from stress. Once the permit is given to the androi Usher, it will hold on to the pass until you decide to return to that certain country.

Hold on. What if I want my character to join another army?
Well then, how that would happen is up to your own interpretation. However, you must consider the fact that you will need a permit from that country you'd want to join in order to actually enter the country. Whatever your plan must be, you must contact a mod for approval. (Hint: It takes two for treason.)

How will warfare be played in this?
This is explained in the Warfare section.

What about events?
There will be plenty of events occurring. Soon enough, there will be a calendar with all of the events coming up within the next two months. Please look out for that.

Events will usually take place in New Utopia, wherein they will often hold a huge festival just about every month to keep peace within the regions. Due to their pacifism, they do not mind if anyone from any country enter their own, as long as they promise not to start any form of violence. This does not mean that violence can't happen; just don't let them notice -- they will arrest your character if they are involved.

There will also be instances wherein events are country-specific. That means that only people within that country are able to get involved in that event. We mods will try to even out the fun. Another situation is when the war actually starts, it will only involve two countries. Yes, the actual war does count as an event. Please read the warfare section for more specific details.

Did you mention something about death?
The Soul Summoning technique is unique in the fact that death is not permanent; once a person dies for whatever reason, they will be found awake in their residential hospital. With each death is the price of losing a fragment of their memory. The following provides a chart of which explains the correspondence between the number of death and the memory:

What if I exceed ten deaths?
First of all, you wouldn't want to do that. On the 11th death and on, your character will remain in a coma for a day. This means that they will not be able to make contact with anyone for those twenty-four hours. REMEMBER, a day in-game is FOUR DAYS in real life. You will not be able to post on your character's journal or [info]amitynet for those three days. If there happens to be a backdated log going on at the same time, you may continue that thread, however, any contact in-game will be suspended.

Will my character be able to recover those memories?
Absolutely, but it is a lengthy process. To regain those memories back, you must successfully achieve three missions. Three missions equates to one level of memory. Keep that in mind. Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be your character who single-handedly completes the mission; it could be that he or she was within the group that was assigned to the mission.

What does the Network Community act as?
Exactly as it says. As the buffer of all countries, New Utopia developed an international network system for news, called International Amity Network ([info]amitynet). Over the years, it has become a way to communicate from country to country -- even sometimes to make friends despite the rivalry. Although Valora, Verity, and Ex Favila often oppose to that kind of communication, there is really no way for them to take it away from the people, and it gradually became a device for national announcements.

In [info]amitynet, the only available filters are those in which only your country is able to read. HOWEVER, all of these entries are vulnerable and able to be easily hacked. Private entries or entries in which are needed to be filtered to or from a specific person or group should be posted in your character’s personal journal, which is guaranteed to be 100% hacker-proof. Otherwise, all entries in [info]amitynet are public. Please keep that in mind.

How does Friends Add work?
The way this system is set up is for organization; the only people you may add in your friends list are those who you have already met through [info]amitynet or in person (that being through [info]conscripted — in a log). That means everyone will not have the same amount of friends, or the same friends. Those who are your friends are the only ones who can read off your journal. Forgive us if this system is complicated, but to us, it is more realistic.

As a side-note, please also add your division generals and your respective country leaders' journals ([info]lord_henam, [info]lord_valor, or [info]lord_mikhail) whether or not they have met. They should automatically be on your list.

What about the Generals in the Friends System?
Brigade Generals should all have their soldiers friended and vise versa.

What are the types of spirits that haunt Verity, and can my character exorcise them?
That is explained right here.

How do the people of Verity respond to the ghosts? Do they ignore them or attack them or anything?
The people of Verity have a curfew of 7pm to avoid the aggressive hauntings, after which they will attack. The paranormal activities which happen in the daytime are not harmful, so the people will just ignore them.
